FAQs

What do I need to bring?

Just you, your baby, and your usual baby bag! I'll provide towels, oil, something to sit on, and handouts. However, if your baby has eczema or any skin allergies, please feel free to bring a trusted fatty cream/moisturiser.

Can I feed my baby?

Yes, of course! Bump to Baby is both bottle and breastfeeding friendly - you can feed your baby however and whenever your baby needs without judgement.

Can I bring someone with me?

You're more than welcome to bring your partner, a friend or a family member with you as support. Partners or other caregivers are encouraged to get involved with the massage - we have dolls to practice strokes on or you can take turns massaging your baby.

Will you massage my baby?

No, I'm simply there to facilitate the class and give you gentle guidance through learning the strokes. I will never touch your baby without your permission.

If I have more than one baby, will you massage them?

If you have multiple babies (e.g. twins, triplets, Irish twins, etc...) you will need to bring another person, preferably another parent or caregiver, to assist you with massaging your babies. Please get in touch for discounted rates for multiples.

Where are classes held?

Classes are held in a quiet space in my home in Ellerslie.

What if my baby cries?

That's totally okay! Crying is your baby's way of communicating what they need. Sometimes babies cry when being massaged, particularly in certain areas - this doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. Please feel free to comfort your baby however you and your baby need without fear of disturbing the class.

What should my baby wear?

Your baby needs to wear something that's easy to take on and off. Weather appropriate layers are recommended. Towels are provided to keep your little one warm and to prevent any accidents. As for you, we will be sitting for the duration of the class, so wear something you feel comfortable in!

Do you do home visits?

If you are in Ellerslie and the surrounding areas, I can come to your home for a group of 3 or more babies (and parents) for an extra fee to cover travel costs.

Do you offer payment plans?

At Bump to Baby, we understand just how expensive having a baby can be, and never want finances to be a reason you're not able to complete a course. Feel free to get in touch with me and we can discuss options for paying in instalments.
